Vijayapura: A notorious rowdy Harijan was brutally murdered near Akashvani in Vijayapura, Karnataka on Tuesday after a gang attacked him with deadly weapons, according to police.
Bhagaapa, once a trusted aide of the infamous gangster Chandappa Harijan and later his successor, had a long history of criminal activities. In 2017, he narrowly survived an assassination attempt when he was shot outside the court premises. However, in recent years, he had settled in Mudina Nagar, insisting that he had left his past behind and was seeking a fresh start after completing his jail term.
The murder took place within the Gandhi Chowk Police Station’s jurisdiction. In response, Police have formed a special investigation team to track down the killers and bring them to justice.
