Gold theft at Jewellers solved in six hours, says SP

The district police superintendent Rohan Jagadish announced that the theft at Shantadurga Jewellers near the city’s Tontadarya Math was solved within six hours, with the suspect arrested and jewellery worth ₹80 lakh recovered. The accused, identified as Mohammad Husain, son of Mohammad Mustafa Siddiqui from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, had been staying in a lodge adjacent to the jewellery shop for a week prior to the incident. According to the SP, the suspect used a gas cutter to cut through the iron bars of a third-floor window of the shop before entering and stealing gold items.
